Developing Strategic Air Defence for the Gulf Region

Air and missile defence capabilities are growing globally and at a particularly fast rate in the Gulf region. The recent upgrade purchase of the PAC-3 Patriot missiles and the Terminal High Altitude Area Defence (THAAD) system procurements have highlighted the increasingly complex and efficient air-based threats prevalent today.

Open strategic communication and cooperation between allied states and the defence industry is necessary to maximize accuracy in threat and future requirement assessments. These assessments are critical to ensuring the protection of airspace and maintaining national security.
